Camping Checklist

Make Sure You Bring All of Your Camping Gear but Not Too Much

There is a fine line between packing all of the camping gear you will need and not over packing. You don’t want to be 30 minutes from a store and realize you forgot something important like a can opener or pain reliever. Everything you load into your RV is going to add weight which doesn’t help gas mileage and you must stay under your tow capacity for safety reasons. And, if you have to run to the nearest store for something chances are it is going to be much more expensive.  The Ultimate RV Camping Checklist will help you remember to bring everything you need. It is a pretty big list so how will you store and pack all that stuff?

How to Pack Your Ultimate RV Camping Checklist

The trick to packing your camper is to be organized and make a plan before you start bringing everything in. Before you start loading up go through the entire RV and take out all unnecessary stuff. Do you really need all those random cups? The kitchen is probably going to be the place where storage is going to be tight so be ruthless. If you haven’t used it lately it has to go!

Now you will have a little more room but don’t start packing it all in yet. You need to make a plan. Take a look at the camping checklist and write down where and how you will store everything. When we go camping I like to keep things grouped together where they will be used. And I LOVE storage totes. Anything that I can’t find a cabinet or home for goes in a storage tote labeled and stored as close to where it will be used as possible.

Weight issues- keep it level

One more thing to think about before you start loading up…. You need to be mindful of how you are distributing the weight of all your camping things. When you are driving you want more weight in the front of the camper than in the back and don’t load one side or the other heavier.
